City Guide

STORY BEHIND

This self-initiated city guide was born during the Covid lockdown, when movement was limited and exploration paused. We created it to encourage people to rediscover the hidden gems of their own city — starting with Sheung Wan, the neighbourhood we’ve lived and worked in for years. As the cultural heart of Hong Kong, Sheung Wan blends heritage and modernity — from museums and temples to traditional grocers and local eateries. Even after all this time, it continues to surprise us with its richness and character.

APPROACH

Our first impression of the neighbourhood was the soft play of leafy shadows — inspiring the use of translucent paper as an envelope to set the tone. From there, we captured the area’s essence through a curated palette of colours and richly textured papers. This project presents a portrait of the city that moves from abstract emotion to tangible texture — a lively, sensory translation of Sheung Wan, designed to evoke spark curiosity and invite people to rediscover its hidden gems.
