A Piece of BMW
BMW
BRIEF
BMW and CASETiFY came together with a shared commitment to circular design and conscious production. The goal: transform recycled materials from retired BMW vehicles into everyday tech accessories. This collaboration celebrates both brands’ sustainability missions — turning legacy into lifestyle and giving new purpose to automotive waste through design.
APPROACH
The design pays homage to BMW’s engineering legacy through refined visual cues and material storytelling. Using recycled metal and plastic, the collection transforms automotive waste into wearable accessories — including phone cases and more — letting users own a piece of BMW in a new, sustainable form.
Launched across digital and physical touchpoints, the collaboration merges heritage with innovation, inviting a new generation to carry the spirit of driving forward.
CASETiFY Takes Over BMW Japan
To launch the new sustainable collection, CASETiFY took over BMW’s flagship store in Japan — transforming the space into an immersive brand experience where automotive heritage met circular design. At the centre: a BMW M3 fitted with a custom ReCASETiFY bumper, showcasing recycled materials in motion. A new way to carry BMW forward.
💭 Thoughts on This Project
For this first BMW × CASETiFY collaboration, we kept the phone collection clean, iconic, and instantly recognisable — a respectful nod to the brand’s precision-engineered legacy. The goal was to let form and material speak for themselves.
One of the most fun parts of this project was working on the special products — especially the metal phone charm, part of a series of small but meaningful objects. Made using recycled aluminum from retired BMWs, it gave new life to old materials in the form of a lifestyle accessory. The finish, weight, and tactile feel were carefully considered to balance ruggedness with refinement — like a car part, reimagined for your pocket.
Special Thanks😽🧡
To the brilliant CASETiFY team — for making everything happen!
